Privacy Policy

Fulton Financial Planning, Inc. (FFP) understands that client privacy is important, especially as it pertains to personal financial information.  We value the relationship with our clients and are committed to protecting the confidentiality of their non-public information.  This statement describes the practices we follow to ensure that we maintain those highest standards of confidentiality.

We collect personal financial information about our clients from the following sources:

  • information our clients provide to us to complete their financial plan;
  • information our clients provide to us in agreements, account applications and other documents completed in connection with the opening and maintenance of their accounts;
  • information our clients provide to us orally; and
  • information we may receive from third parties, such as brokerage firms, about our clients’ transactions with us or with others.

We do not disclose any non-public personal financial information about our clients to anyone, except in the following circumstances:

  • when required to provide services our clients have requested;
  • when a client has specifically authorized us to do so in writing;
  • when provided to independent contractors hired by our firm to help FFP with the preparation of a client’s financial plan; or
  • when required by law or regulatory authorities.

Within our firm, we restrict access to clients’ personal financial information to only those employees and/or independent contractors who need to know that information as it pertains to completing work on the client’s financial plan.  We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect client’s personal information, and we review and adjust these safeguards from time to time in response to advances in technology.

In addition, all officers and employees of FFP understand the importance of maintaining complete privacy and confidentiality of client information.  Nothing about our clients should be discussed with family, friends or other clients outside our offices; within our office client information should be discussed only as required to complete a financial project for that client.  Further, our officers, employees and/or independent contractors are instructed never to discuss a client’s situation with someone else who may request information about an account unless the firm has received specific written instructions from the client authorizing such actions.  This includes discussing information about a wife’s IRA with her husband or discussing with a son or daughter information about their parents’ accounts.

FFP provides a copy of this privacy policy to all clients at the time of engagement and thereafter on an annual basis.

In short, maintaining our clients’ privacy is our highest priority.  Please call if you have any questions concerning our policy.
